Do you need any kind of permission to get beats (instrumental) and make up lyrics and sing dem yourself?

basically all i wnt to know is if u need permission to get the instrumental for EXAMPLE...mr. carter?

Well, if you just sing it to people and don't try to sell it, it is okay.


But if you use exact or almost exact (off by a few notes) notes then you will be in trouble. Of course you can only do this if you are not selling it. No trouble as long as you don't sell it.


If you change it up a bit and don't use the same tune too much then you can do what you want with it.
