Why can't I sing standing up?

My voice sounds good when I'm sitting of lying down, but when I stand I find it harder to sing and my voice tends to crack a lot more. Why is that?

It may have something to do with HOW you're standing. If you are standing with your weight evenly distributed on both feet with straight posture, you should be good to go. Also, you want to be sure you are engaging your abdominal muscles while standing to sing. Above all relax! You may just be more tense standing up!
Reply:well I'm not sure why that is to be honest :( but you could practice singing while standing up and maybe you'll become more comfortable to sing while standing. Maybe you just feel more comfortable singing while sitting or laying down try getting into the habit of singing while standing up! :)
Reply:I think the reason it could be hard is because while standing up, your body wait sort of hinders your ability to let air in and out, but while laying down you should find it easier to breathe, etc.

I am a vocalist myself, and I find it to be a bit of a hassle to sing while standing as well. However, once you practice enough your singing voice will sound just fine. It just takes time and effort.
Reply:idk but do u go to performing arts if u do u SHOULD be better!
