Is "Dixie Chicks, Shut up and Sing", politically motivated?

Probably so. And justifiably so.
Is "Dixie Chicks, Shut up and Sing", politically motivated?
Of course !! and so is "I'm not ready to make nice" !!
Reply:I hate the dixie chicks.......
Reply:This song is all about Natalie Maines public comments about George Bush. Remember the big blow up with her, and Toby Keith. So, I am not sure if the person she refers to in her song, that wrote the letter is supposed to be George Bush, or Toby Keith.
Reply:Everything is.
Reply:the song or the threat against Natalie?

the song is about the struggle the chicks have had over the past 2-3(?) years and the threat was very politically motivated
Reply:Absolutely! And their timing is as well. It coincides with the release of their silly little "documentary" movie. Been 3 years since the little fat one shot the group in it's collective foot by running her mouth and their fans, who punished them, don't seem to have forgotten.
Reply:Doesn't matter if they shut up OR sing at this point, no one is paying money to see them anymore.Too late to make nice now! The Bush comment was just the straw that broke the camels back, they been running their mouths about other artists for years as well as insulting their own fans.
