Where's a good campground in the Wisconsin Dells to stay up late singing songs by the fire?

We want to set up a tent or two and be able to have a little rucous in the woods. It'd be nice to have a cool little social scene too. We are responsible hippies.

Prefer experience based answers over website reviews, thanks.

Great question! Most of the campgrounds in the Dells cater to a family environment and most will allow you to rent a space with a fire pit, but not usually next to the woods. A good number of the strip-located ones like Bonanza and Yogi Bear's are usually pretty filled during most Summer weekends. So, if you are looking for some privacy, that may not be the option.

As for the social-scene, I can vouche for Bonanza having one. But again, it is a family-orientated campground.

Another great option that I did not think of initially is the Edge of the Dells campground! They have an on-site bar, and tons of entertainment! Definitely worth a visit to their website.

See below for some links to help you make your decision. I hope this helps!
