Why does my larynx goes up while singing its supposed to be dwn while singing?

especially on high notes have you got any exercises for that to stay in place and why does it have to be ddown. i dont understand but i have heard of it taht it has to be down ..

when you swallow, your larynx will go up. In that upper position, you cannot make a sound. INvoluntarily, when you sing higher it goes up too. that constricts air flow.
