If you go onto carly's website it gives the full story, but apparently she was recording in the UK and she invited him to the studio, and they started playing around with the song and the guy originally due to sing back up said you guys sound great let mick do it. that's how it went down. and no, "your so vain' is not about Mick, that was a hot rumor that carly killed in an interview
