Is it bad to tilt your head up when you sing?

I sometimes tilt my head up to get out the higher notes but only when i'm using my chest voice not my head voice. Is this bad? My voice teacher hasn't mentioned it.

not at all.. a little personality to songs it just what singers need these days
Reply:Tilting your head back will not put a strain on your cords. It actually is a widely used technique to sing high notes. You can observe famous legit singers tilting their heads back slightly on you tube.

Tilting the head back shortens the vocal tract length creating a resonance area that favors higher notes.
Reply:did you tell your teacher?
Reply:YES! it does affect your vocal cords causing your tone to sound strained and tight. it also affects your pitch. hope i helped
Reply:No, you can actually sing with whatever styles that fit you best.
