Is there any way to change the email used when singing up for xbox live, if the account isn't on my xbox?

I need to reset the email address used when creating my Xbox Live account. The account was created via 12-month gold card. I know(remember) the following credentials for the account: name, phone number, gamertag, home address. I don't remember the following credentials: Primary email, and security question/answer. I might remember the alternate email address used for it.
Is there any way to change the email used when singing up for xbox live, if the account isn't on my xbox?
I think you can go to xbox360.com and there is this gamertag recovery thing. Try it.
