Why do birds sing when the sun comes up?

Actually, most wild birds start singing well before dawn. And only they know why!
Why do birds sing when the sun comes up?
I think they're trying to signal each other on where the worms and berries are. Have you noticed that birds are not selfish. They fly together, play together, sing together. Seriously, I don't know why, but it sounded good to me when I thought it. LOL
Reply:THey wake up and keep in touch with each other with their singing. Territory identification. But I also like to think they are so happy that its morning again.
Reply:lots of reasons, A NEW DAY, new begining, and you feel good, life is beautiful. many reasons.
Reply:When the birds wake up they start to sing. It is dangerous to fly or hunt during the dark, unless you are adapted for it; like the owl. So most birds sleep at night and wake up at dawn. A lot of insects do the same. If dew collects on the ground then it can drive some insects to the surface. That's why worms come out when it rains. Other insects come out with the dew to drink it.

A bird's song is primary done for sexual reasons. Roosters (male chickens) crow to challenge any other roosters in the area and stake out their claim to this flock. Other birds could have the same reson. Some birds sing to attract a mate or to announce that they are looking for one. The birds that don't sing are those that are trying to hatch an egg or protect their chicks. Sometimes the other parent will sing to lure potential predators away. Another good trick is the "limp wing hop."

Then some birds sing just because that is what they do. A few others will sing to mock or drive out other birds--then it is competition for space.
Reply:because they are happy
Reply:They do it to let me know its time for me to go to bed.
Reply:because they want to wake up the insects so they can eat them
