Is "Dixie Chicks, Shut up and Sing", a political movie or a movie about Free Speech?

Or about neo-conservative wackos trying to stifle the truth?
Is "Dixie Chicks, Shut up and Sing", a political movie or a movie about Free Speech?
God forbid the Dixie Chicks have a voice other than singing. Good for them.
Reply:Stifle the truth? That's a good one. Maybe it's just a movie about them trying to justify the fact that their mouthpiece, Natalie Mains shot off her mouth and alienated almost their entire fan base, then they got all pissy about it because that fan base stopped buying their music. They can't have it both ways.

I'm sure that you never even noticed but don't you think that it's strange that the Hollywood Press awarded the Dixie Chicks a Grammy for their music But the Academy of Country Music did not? That's because the Hollywood Press is made up of like minded liberals who don't buy their music but love their stupid liberal politics and the Academy of Country Music is fan based on those who bigmouth Mains alienated and they can't sell a CD there either. She should have kept her pie hole shut.

Her saying that she was ashamed that the President of the USA came from Texas was just plain stupid, especially in front of a huge crowd of people who don't feel that way, and those people decided that she'd wait a long time for them to spend a dime on her again. My local Country Music station doesn't play their music because the listeners don't want to hear it.
Reply:Again I missed the "stifling the truth" memo. I keep forgetting to go to those secret meetings. As for the Dixie Chicks, I know I look to a mediocre country music group for my political philosophies.
Reply:Free Speech? WTF would it have to do with free speech? Did the government prevent them from speaking?

What happened is they opened their fat unintelligent mouths and made a statement that the folks who buy their music, go to their concerts and play their music on the radio didn't care for. So, in their acts of Free Speech, they stopped buying, stopped listening, stopped palying the Dixie Twits.

And some truly stupid people started talking about "free speech". They had free speech, and they had a free speech reaction to that speech.

Or were people not supposed to be allowed to not support them?
Reply:Put it this way,the Dixies are no Dylan.
Reply:All of the above
Reply:I think it's none of the above, actually. It's about making an album, albeit in the context of how politics has affected their situation.
Reply:I really don't care what it is. I used to listen to their music, because it was good. Then they got more interested in political causes than producing good music, now I won't waste my money on anything they do.
Reply:No, I think it is a song about a bunch of inbreds who have little talent and should be happy anyone wants to listen to their garbage.
Reply:I thought it was another 'documentary'.
Reply:The Dixie chicks suck. who cares about what they say.

I would love to do all 3 of them though.
Reply:The Chicks are morons, I didn't like them before and I don't like them now!
Reply:Until I saw your second sentence, I was prepared to give a decent answer. Your childishness makes this unworthy of an answer, do grow up.
Reply:I actually knew the chicks ,back in the day when they had their head on straight!! Pre Natalie Mayne!!! who is a true left wing nut
