How old should you sign a child up for singing lesions?

My daghter is 9 years old. When do you think I could sign her up for singing lessions? She has a great voice. And I am having twins right now, a boy and a girl.

I found this helpful site - http://www.nymetroparents.com/newarticle...

Also, if you haven't already, I would also be looking into children's choirs around your area, as those are great ways to become more familiar with music and singing, and a good start for her, as she's a little young and I know some teachers won't accept students under 11/12 years old.

We had the same problem with my 11-year-old daughter; we found a singing instructor for her but were unsure of whether to start now or not, as my daughter's former choir director advised us not to start until she was 14, so we decided to wait.
Reply:What possible difference does the fact you are having twins make?

You should never sign your daughter up for singing lessons unless she comes to you and asks for them. It's her voice, not yours, and at nine you can't possibly tell whether she will have a great voice or not.
Reply:If she wants the lessons, now is as good a time as any. With two siblings on the way, it might be a wonderful thing to make her feel special during all the chaos to come. However, if she doesn't want to do it, don't push her. You want her to enjoy her talent, not make it a burden.
Reply:first of all i'm pretty sure you mean lessons because a lesion is a cut.. and i don't think you want to sign your kid up for that.

if you want to sign her up then you need to find places in your area and get in contact with them and go from there with the LESSONS.
Reply:you can sign them up at 3 or 4 and 9 is good
Reply:Now would be fine.
