How do you warm up before you sing?

It depends on the time of day. If you're warming up to practice at 4 in the afternoon, you're voice is already a bit warm from talking all day so you don't need to warm up quite as much. I usually do some yawning exercises and roll my shoulder and head. There are a lot of simple scalar melodies you can sing going higher and lower to warm up the top and bottom of your range. You can sing all five vowels on the same note beginning with the 'n' sound. So: nee, neh, nah, no, noo. Take it a half step higher. Sing again. Go up until you feel uncomrotable. Then start at middle C and go back down. You can sing broken chords. Do lip trills (when you flap your lips) while singing up and down a scale. It's hard to explain on here!

most of the time, i sing something from Paramore, or The Beatles to start out with, then sing what I'm supposed to.

it gets me started and ready to sing out loud! %26lt;3
